Electrical Engineer Rail Overhead Lines Substations Traction All Levels

With the South Australian State Government making the biggest single investment in Adelaide s public transport system and with over $2 Billion to be invested in revitalizing the public transport network over the next decade, our client has an urgent requirement for an Electrical Design Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert technical advice, design and project management services for the tram network including maintenance of the existing power supply systems and structure and the replacement of the overhead line and substation upgrades
• Provide specialist Electrical advice to: the tram maintenance division in relation to rail traction supply system and management of assets; project to replace the existing tram line overhead network and substation upgrade; project to electrify the rail network.
• Develop and modify electrical standards and specifications for the tram and rail networks.
• Review and ensure compliance to related Australian and international standards, ensuring ongoing safety in the railway environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• Experience in Railway Overhead Traction Supply Systems, including installation and maintenance.
• Experience in managing all or elements of large scale electrical installations.
