With extensive experience in all areas of IT and with a focus on IT Managed Services and Infrastructure Management & Reporting, our client requires a 'switched on' IT support specialist. This role, within their Service Desk Team, is to help provide Level 1 and Level 2 Desktop and Network troubleshooting support to their corporate clients.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing First/Second Level support to clients
- Troubleshooting user desktop related problems (mainly to do with internet issues) using the phone and remote access tools
- Escalating problems to Second/Third Level support or 3rd party vendors
- Performing basic Server tasks
- Logging all calls and jobs via the internal help desk system
- Providing a high level of Customer Service and communication, meeting and exceeding client expectations
- Managing warranty and hardware returns
- Ensuring all outstanding calls / issues are resolved or escalated.
To succeed in this role you will require:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a IT Customer Service support role
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems (Windows 2003, 2008, Windows XP, Vista, Win7)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook etc..)
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP and networking
- Experience in using Remote tools (VNC, RDP etc..)
- MCP Qualification (min.), Degree or Tertiary Qualification; MCSE highly regarded
- Understanding of VPN's
- Strong verbal communication skills in listening to clients and in articulating technical issues into simple, easily understood, terms
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- A strong Customer Service focus and a willingness to learn and work within a team.
