IT DESKTOP SUPPORT

This position requires a self motivated individual to be part of a small team responsible for the management and administration of the company’s IT Infrastructure and Systems.
This position is primarily responsible for Desktop Support and Administration, working in a Windows, Active Directory environment and supporting both internal and external users. The environment is flexible and undergoing continuous upgrade and review of new technologies to allow a good remote working environment and selection of most relevant tools. Some training will be provided.
The suitable candidate will be a confident well spoken individual, embarking in their IT career, will not be afraid of new technologies, but embrace new technologies, have a sharp eye for problem solving and for researching answers.

Experience required:

  • Degree qualifications
  • 1 – 2 commercial years Desktop Support experience
  • User account management via Active Directory
  • Sound Windows XP and Office 2007 knowledge
  • Ability build/maintain a Windows SOE
  • Symantec Ghost or similar products
  • Software deployment and maintenance
  • Some experience with PC software/hardware asset register (update & maint.)
  • Strong hands-on experience of MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word) Some experience with Access preferred
  • Ability to configure, backup and support Apple iPhone
  • Knowledge of Group Policy Objects used for Desktop environment would be advantageous
Degree qualifications

Supporting around forty staff including some regional offices, this person will be required to provide advice the use of their equipment and tools and assist with any problems they may be experiencing.

Strong communications skills and command of the English language are essential.
