An opportunity for a Category Specialist has arisen to join this market leading organisation based in Sydney CBD. As part of the group strategic sourcing team, you will be working across a range of categories from Capex/Opex, facilities management and capital equipment.
In this unique role, it will be required to define strategy to satisfy business requirements whilst offering leading best practice and innovative alternatives across multiple categories within the contract life cycle
It is essential that the candidate will deploy strategic & tactical sourcing activities across the organisation to deliver the optimal value for money through a structured, consistent and managed process.
There is also a focus on demand management with an understanding of the value of data to inform decisions and approach on policy, category strategies, sourcing strategies and ultimately deliver opportunities for achieving value for money.
- 5+ years professional experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management
- Category specific experience essential within Capex / Opex – specifically Capital Works Projects, Facilities Management and Capital Equipment
- Strong skills in defining strategy to satisfy business requirements whilst offering leading best practice and innovative alternatives
- Ability to apply lateral thinking to issues and develop new and innovative solutions to problems/target areas
- High degree of problem solving and decision-making ability
- Ability to obtain value, benefits and savings during contract lifecycle through demand management with strong stakeholder engaging skills
